A beautiful walk in Fiskardo Kefalonia

The only village on Kefalonia spared by the 1953 earthquake, Fiskardo still has its original Venetian-era pastel houses lined along a horseshoe harbour. Tied-up sailing yachts, jasmine spilling over balconies, kingfishers darting across the bay at sunset — this is the Ionian at its most picturesque.

Wander, swim off the rocks at Foki Beach, eat fresh fish at one of the quayside tavernas, and stay until the lights come on.
