Paxos is one of the least commercial Greek Islands
A place that will inspire you and make you feel like home from the very first minute. According to the legend, this emerald Island was chosen by the Greek Gods, Poseidon and Amphitrite to live their love. In Greek it is called Paxoi, as it is a group of Islands consisted of Paxos, Antipaxos, Mogonisi, Kaltsonisi, Panagia, St. Nicholas and Dascalia.
Here, you will need some days to explore the small picturesque villages (Gaios, Loggos, Lakka) and some more to rent a boat and explore the hidden beauties of the Island that you cannot reach by car on foot.
Paxos by car or on foot
Gaios — It is the Island's capital and the main port. You can enjoy a beautiful walk on the seafront, to admire the Venetian architecture and the natural beauty of Gaios. Blue and green all around together with small shops selling clothes, souvenirs and… ice-cream! You will find many restaurants to choose from depending on what you want to eat, cafes and bars to enjoy a cool beer or a traditional ouzo and the one and only night club of the Island.
Loggos — a tiny picturesque port with charming tavernas right by the water.
Lakka — a horseshoe-shaped bay in the north of the island, famous for its turquoise water and sunset views.
Antipaxos
Just a short boat ride south of Paxos lies tiny Antipaxos — home to Voutoumi and Vrika, two of the most stunning beaches in all of Greece. Crystal clear waters, fine white sand and a couple of small tavernas serving fresh fish: pure paradise.
Whether you visit for the food, the sea or just the calm pace of life, Paxos and Antipaxos leave a lasting impression.
