Discover Athens
The ancient capital
Welcome to Athens
Athens is where Greece's story begins. The birthplace of democracy, philosophy and theatre still hums with the energy of a modern European capital, layered over almost 3,500 years of history.
One moment you're standing beneath the Parthenon, the next you're sipping a freddo espresso in a buzzing neighbourhood square. It's a city of contrasts — ancient ruins beside street art, rooftop bars looking out over floodlit temples.
Give Athens more than a quick stopover. Its museums, markets and characterful districts reward anyone who slows down to explore.
